Description

Believe it or not, I painted this on my bedroom wall when I was only 12 years old. It's something that I will always remember and be proud for achieving. I know I was still pretty much looking at episodes and copying the characters poses and expressions exactly, but I really loved this piece of art. I have to admit, I was sad when I eventually had to paint over it many years later...

In case anyone isn't familiar with the characters, they are all from an old Nickelodeon cartoon called Hey Arnold!

Long before I knew about Pokemon, Team Rocket and shipping Jessie and James together, I absolutely loved this show, was shipping Arnold and Helga, and was completely obsessed with it. I'd still say to this day, it's the biggest obsession I've had. Of course, I was a lot younger then and probably had too much time on my hands, but I did so many creative things because I loved this show and its characters.

Most people always think it's an odd thing to get so obsessed over whenever I tell them, he he he. Back in school, I remember 99% of everyone else I knew liked Rugrats better. I liked Rugrats also, but for some reason Hey Arnold! struck a chord with me and I just loved it on so many levels. In any case, it really didn't take long until everyone in my year knew me as "Hey Arnold!'s girl" or "that girl who draws Hey Arnold!"

Helga is my favourite character, as she was back then, maybe partly because I could relate to her on a few levels. But overall she is just an awesome character. Her crazy antics in trying to get Arnold to notice her true feelings for him always had me on the edge of my seat. Her episodes were the best!

There really aren't enough words to express my love for this show. It made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me think about stuff. I dare say I learnt a thing or two from watching. When I think of how it ended, how it was cut short and never allowed to be properly finished, it still makes me sad, but I will always remember it for what it was and what it meant to me.

I know I probably sound silly, but I have such fond memories attached to Hey Arnold!

And now you have a little more useless information on this crazy artist's history.
